Orthotic and Prosthetic Residency

Thank you for your interest in the University of California, San Francisco Orthotic and Prosthetic Residency training program. The Orthotic and Prosthetic center at UCSF has proven itself on a continual basis as a leader in O&P care, education, research and development. In its seventy-five year existence, the department has been recognized as a pillar of strength for this institution and has been instrumental in the development of the Orthopaedic department on the whole.

Our structured education is strategically designed to assist residents in achieving a mastery of the O&P profession, by providing a healthy balance of clinical management, research, and administrative responsibilities. We strongly encourage and foster a sense of leadership and personal growth in each resident that will instill the level of clinical confidence necessary to start you on your path to a rewarding future career.

The Orthotic and Prosthetic division at UCSF holds a strong presence in our three main campuses, Parnassus Heights, San Francisco General Hospital, and Mission Bay. Residents have the unique opportunity of rotating through each of these centers to gain greater clinical exposure and a wider breadth of knowledge from each of our esteemed specialists. This multi-center program affords our residents a well-rounded training experience that is filled with a broadly based and diverse patient population.
