Services at the Orthotic and Prosthetic Centers at UCSF

The Orthotic and Prosthetic Centers at UCSF offer a complete range of services. All of our Orthotists and or Prosthetists are American Board Certified, and are very experienced at providing orthotic and prosthetic treatment that is safe, fits well, has minimal weight, and maximizes function specifically designed for each patient. Practitioners have extensive training at treating patients living with: every level of amputation; plagiocephaly; polio; cerebral palsy; clubfoot; scoliosis; diabetes; fractures; pectus carinatum; spina bifida; spinal cord injury; sports injuries; and stroke.

Innovative orthotic treatments include the use of Stance Control KAFOs, Starband Cranial Helmets, and Walk-Aide technologies.

With a large inventory of off shelf braces, measurement and complete fitting of orthoses usually occurs in one visit. If the brace you require is not in our inventory, we can measure and deliver it very quickly, usually within a week. For most custom made braces, evaluations, measurements/castings, fabrication, and completed fittings are within two weeks after authorization or pre-approvals are obtained.

Prosthetically, we combine proven methods with new age technology to produce highly effective devices that allow our patients to accomplish their life goals.

We are pleased to provide consultations to physicians, therapists and other medical professionals regarding the more beneficial treatment plans available to their patients.
