Lower Extremity Prosthetics

Below Knee / PTB / Transtibial Amputation

There are several designs for below knee prostheses. The style of prosthesis that a patient is fit with will depend on their activity level, residual limb length and shape, as well as their diagnosis and prognosis. The socket design will be determined. The three major types of socket designs are:

  • Patellar Tendon bearing (PTB)
  • Silicone Suction with locking pin
  • Suction or Elevated vacuum
  • Patient treatment video
