Race Details
This year’s San Francisco Marathon was held on
Sunday August 3, 2008.
The UCSF Sports Medicine Volunteer Team provided care for the approximately 15,000 runners who participated this year. This marked the fourth time that UCSF Sports Medicine has organized medical care for this great event.
This is one of the major running events of the west coast and runners were thriled to traverse the Golden Gate Bridge, one of the most world-reknowned landmarks.
The race started at the Embarcadero and headed up to and across the Golden Gate Bridge. Runners then proceeded into the Presidio, through Golden Gate Park, and finally returned to the Embarcadero via the beautiful San Francisco streets.
Thank you to all of you who volunteered your time and skills to make this event a big success!
