Laboratory for Orthopaedic Bioengineering

Overall Focus

The University of California at San Francisco Laboratory for Orthopaedic Bioengineering is directed by Jeffrey C. Lotz, Ph.D. The laboratory is located within the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and devoted to conducting basic research in several areas of orthopaedics, including the biomechanics of the spine, intervertebral disc, and the hand. The research team is a diverse combination of biomechanical engineers, biologists, and orthopaedic surgeons.
