Cindy Lin
, B.S., MPH
Cindy Lin was born in Pei-Kang, Taiwan and grew up in MORAGA, California. She received her B.S. degree in Chemistry from the University of Virginia (UVA) in 2000. After graduating from UVA, she spent one year doing colon cancer research at UVA medical hospital. In 2001, she spent nearly 7 months at Kyoto University in Kyoto, Japan studying Japanese. During her studying, she also participated in research studying earthquake at the Department of Physics at Kyoto University. After returning from Japan, Cindy attended Dartmouth Medical School and completed her MPH degree in Epidemiology/Biostatistics in 2003. Over the past year, Cindy has been actively involved in Buddhism, Zen and Meditation. She lived and studied for several months in Buddha's monastery in Lafayette, California. In June of 2004, Cindy Lin joined the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and San Francisco General Hospital (SFGH), as a clinical research coordinator.
