Brenda Stengele, NP

Brenda was born in Phoenix Arizona and raised in Southern California. She received her Registered Nurse certification in 1982 and worked in Southern California until re-locating to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1987. She was hired at Stanford University Medical Center as a staff nurse and then promoted to Assistant Nurse Manager in 1991 after completing her baccalaureate degree in nursing at San Jose State University.

In September of 1995, Brenda returned to school at the University of California, San Francisco and earned a Master's Degree in Nursing with Nurse Practitioner certification and specialization in Occupational and Environmental Medicine. After graduation, she was hired by the Department of Medicine at UCSF to coordinate the Occupational Medicine program as a Nurse Practitioner at the San Francisco Airport during construction of the International Terminal.

In August of 2000, she was hired by the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UCSF to manage the orthopaedic practices at the Mount Zion Campus as well as becoming the Nurse Practitioner for the Hand Surgery Practice. In January of 2003, Brenda transferred to the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at San Francisco General Hospital where she currently works as a Nurse Practitioner as well as helping to develop a Transfer Program for orthopaedic trauma patients.
