Felipe Villanueva, C.P.O. — Orthotics
Felipe Villanueva was born in Ft. Rucker AL and grew up in San Antonio TX. He graduated from Texas Technical State College in 1991 with an associate's degree in automotive technology. He then worked for Toyota motor company for 8 years as a technician. Wanting a career change he was accepted into the Prosthetic and Orthotic curriculum at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in 2002.
Upon graduation he was accepted for residency at UCSF Orthotic and Prosthetic center, and completed two years in orthotics and prosthetics. Areas of research done during his residency include, treatment options for partial foot amputations and spinal bracing for Idiopathic Scoliosis. Felipe is a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist and in July of 2004 he became the manager of the Orthotic and Prosthetic Center at San Francisco General Hospital, joining the Orthopaedic Surgery Team.
