Orthotics & Prosthetics


A long leg brace that is made with many different materials, functions, and designs depending upon need. It can be used for multiple purposes, including severe knee ligament instability, muscle weakness, pain, and/or fractures.


  • Stance Control KAFO: A long leg brace that locks when weight bearing and allows free bending flexion in walking.
  • Locked KAFO: This is used when the patient cannot walk or be safe with knee motion when standing or walking. The locks can automatically engage or be manual.
  • Free motion KAFO: Used primarily for severe knee instability problems, pain, and/or fractures.
  • Blount’s Brace: Used with young children for treatment of Blount’s Disease (tibia varum).
