Orthotics & Prosthetics

 

Lumbo-Sacral Orthosis (LSO)

A brace that focuses immobilization and support on the lumbar spine.

Examples:

  • Boston Overlap Brace (BOB): A custom front opening plastic brace that tightly compresses the abdomen and lumbar spine. It is commonly used for treatment of pars fractures of the posterior arch of lumbar vertebrae.
  • Cybertech: A soft LSO that is very effective at stabilizing the lumbar spine with a patented pulley system.
  • Soft Lumbar supports: There are a variety of these supports which are primarily used for soft tissue injuries and relief of low back pain.
  • Mother-to-be LSO: A soft support with a molded back that is used to unload and support the lumbar spine during pregnancy.
