THE RunSafe DESIGN
RunSafe was designed with the running athlete in mind, focusing on injury prevention and biomechanical analysis. Knowing how to prevent running injuries and practicing safe training methods are the best strategy to running safely.
As a RunSafe client, you will receive personalized assessments of multiple components of your running and training patterns. From these assessment findings, recommendations will be given to you in the form of a personalized report. You will be participating with a group of up to four runners, providing a dynamic and interactive experience.
The total RunSafe experience will last approximately 2 hours, consisting of the following multidisciplinary assessment stations:
1. Video Gait Analysis - Using a computerized motion analysis software, a UCSF sports medicine specialist evaluates your running biomechanics from multiple camera angles. |
2. Strength & Flexibility Assessment - A physical therapist evaluates your functional strength & flexibility using focused assessment techniques. |
3. Nutritional Analysis & Counseling - A registered sports dietitian discusses the components of your nutritional habits and makes personalized recommendations that support your athletic endeavors. |
4. Foot Dynamics & Footwear Assessment – A professional certified in orthotics & prosthetics assesses your foot shape and dynamics, and examines your footwear. |
5. Debriefing and Recommendations – Your results from each station are discussed with you and recommendations made based on the findings. You receive a personalized “report card” outlining these findings and recommendations. |
