Lower Extremity Orthotics

Hip Orthosis

A brace that limits or controls motion around the hip.

Examples:

  • Adult/Adolescent hip abduction orthosis: Usually used to treat hip arthroplasty or hip dislocation. The brace limits harmful motion.
  • A-Frame: Treats asceptic necrosis of the hip in children.
  • Pavlik Sling or a static hip abduction orthosis (“Cruiser”): These braces are used for hip dysplagia or hip dislocation problems.
