Imaging Services
The Orthopaedic Institute Imaging Services, focused on musculoskeletal radiology, houses a 3T (Tesla) magnet, which is the most advanced scanner available today to patients for routine clinical use. 3T scanners produce clearer, higher resolution images, and allow our practitioners to accomplish their work in a shorter amount of time using less invasive procedures. With filmless digital systems housed exclusively at the Center, images are distributed throughout the Orthopaedic Institute electronically and finally reside in each exam room as needed for consultation between the physician and the patient.

Playsafe/ Runsafe Programs
Our outreach programs are created to fill a need in the community. We are proud to house these two outreach programs in the Orthopaedic Institute.

PlaySafe was created to address the need for sports medicine services and education in the SFUSD high schools and to promote physically active lifestyles in student athletes of the San Francisco area. Playsafe is staffed by highly qualified Certified Athletic Trainers, Primary Care Sports Medicine Physicians, and Orthopaedic Surgeons who provide sports medicine care to the SFUSD high schools.

RunSafe was designed with the running athlete in mind, focusing on injury prevention and biomechanical analysis. Knowing how to prevent running injuries and practicing safe training methods are the best strategy to running safely. RunSafe is a multidisciplinary clinic providing a comprehensive and individualized service to running athletes of all levels, consisting of analysis and counseling from a team of sports medicine specialists including a sports medicine physician, physical therapist, sports dietitian, and professionals certified in orthotics & prosthetics.
