DEPARTMENT OF ORTHOPAEDIC SURGERY

Welcome

Finding a trusted, experienced, quality, state of the art orthotic and prosthetic patient care center is difficult, unless you already know about the UCSF Orthotic and Prosthetic Service. Our clinical staff evaluate, design, custom fit and manufacture all types of orthoses (braces) and prostheses (artifical limbs) to meet the needs of the individual patient. The clinical staff includes ABC certified practitioners recognized for their expertise, quality care, and reputation throughout California. Our Patient Care Centers are located adjacent to major medical centers: UCSF Medical Center, San Francisco General Hospital and Mt. Zion Medical Center. We believe our locations are not only convenient, but create an efficient environment that directly impacts the quality of care. We help people with special problems.

Our administrative staff is highly skilled and experienced with the managed care procedures and we are contracted with most insurance companies. The patient's experience, while at our care center, is of upmost importance to us and every member of our staff is dedicated to help make their visit a positive one.

We are at the leading edge of new technology and an integral participant in the rehabilitation team. The team combines physician, physical therapist and orthotist/prosthetist expertise to formulate a successful patient care plan.
