The Division of Pediatric Orthopaedics at UCSF Children's hospital was founded in 1934. Pediatric Orthopaedics is a Division of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, and a Clinical Service at The Children's Hospital at UCSF.
The Pediatric Orthopaedics Service is complimented by a team approach to children with multiple and complex problems, including management of spinal diseases in conjunction with the Department of Neurosurgery, management of children with developmental problems in conjunction with the Department of Pediatrics, management of children with chronic disabilities in conjunction with the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, and management of acute postoperative pain in conjunction with the Department of Anesthesiology. In addition, we work closely with physical therapy, occupational therapy, hand therapy and child life specialists, to provide a complete and thorough treatment approach to our patients.
Dr. Aenor Sawyer has joined the UCSF Pediatric Orthopaedics Practice. Dr. Sawyer will focus on providing UCSF Pediatric Services in the East Bay and Tri-Valley areas, as well as working with the Human Performance Center at the new Orthopaedic Institute.
