Surgical Training Facility - Management Team

Pravin Venketsamy
Director of Medical Education

Pravin Venketsamy joined the OTI in 2007 as the Director of Medical Education, and oversees the overall management of the Surgical Training Facility.  Prior to this appointment, Venketsamy was a conference manager and communications associate at Kaiser Permanente where he managed a state-of-the-art conference center, coordinated corporate communications web and graphics design, and assisted the senior leadership team with meeting planning and execution. Venketsamy is serving on the Regents Advisory Committee of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has served on the boards of several professional organizations in an event management capacity, including the Public Relations Society of America and National Investor Relations Institute. He is also deeply committed to assisting non-profit organizations, primarily in third world countries, with marketing management, media outreach, policy implementation, website development, and strategy through the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) Program.

Venketsamy holds a master’s degree in health administration from New England College, a bachelor’s degree in health care services, and earned a certificate in executive leadership from Cornell University, Johnson Graduate School of Management and School of Hotel Administration.

Stephanie Cruz
Surgical Lab Specialist

Stephanie Cruz is the most recent addition to the Surgical Training Facility, having joined in November of 2008. She is a physical anthropologist with interests in Forensic Osteology and Pathology. She has a wealth of experience in Osteology and Anatomy, having interned abroad in South America and Eastern Europe on a number of excavation projects. As the new STF Lab Specialist, she is responsible for managing the surgical equipment and instrumentation as well as the overall operation of the laboratory.

Stephanie graduated from Stanford University with a bachelor’s degree in Anthropological Sciences with a focus in physical anthropology and a minor in Spanish Literature.
