Thank for your interest in becoming part of the Sports Medicine Volunteer Team. We collectively strive to deliver the highest quality of medical care for many of our San Francisco Bay Area's sporting events. Volunteers of all backgrounds from UCSF and the surrounding community contribute immensely to providing a safe and positive environment for participants to pursue their personal athletic goals.

Race Details

This year's San Francisco Marathon will be held on
Sunday August 3, 2008.

From approximately 7 am until 2 pm the UCSF Sports Medicine Volunteer Team will be providing care for the approximately 15,000 runners that are expected to participate this year. This will mark the fourth time that UCSF Sports Medicine has organized medical care for this great event.

This is one of the major running events of the west coast and runners are thriled to traverse the Golden Gate Bridge, one of the most world-reknowned landmarks.

The race starts at the Embarcadero and heads up to and across the Golden Gate Bridge. Runners will then proceed into the Presidio, through Golden Gate Park, and finally return to the Embarcadero via the beautiful San Francisco streets.
